Description

Edition 1/1 In Seashells the organic form of a scallop shell emerges from a tide of fine etched textures part botanical part geological wholly fluid. The work evokes a delicate relic left by the sea: weathered silent and inscribed by time. The etching was printed from a single plate using the à la poupée inking method which allows for the nuanced layering of green and orange hues directly on the plate echoing the interplay of algae salt and light on a washed-up shell. This piece sits at the intersection of memory and material where marine forms drift toward abstraction and detail becomes meditation. A quiet fragment of the ocean’s vastness preserved in ink.
